Hand car wash in Islip Terrace, NY

Car Wash

Our car wash is a full hand wash, not a drive-through tunnel. Every vehicle gets a two-bucket hand wash with pH-balanced soap, wheel and tire cleaning, and a hand dry with microfiber towels, so there is no risk of the swirl marks that automated brushes cause.

Book it mobile at your home or office anywhere on Long Island, or drop off at our Islip Terrace shop, by appointment. If you want more than a wash, ask about adding interior cleaning or a full detail at the same appointment, or pair it with ceramic coating at our Islip Terrace shop.

There is a real, physical reason hand washing protects your paint better than a tunnel. A brush or cloth automatic wash reuses the same media across hundreds of cars a day, dragging whatever grit the last car left behind straight across your clear coat, that is where swirl marks come from. Touchless automatic washes skip the physical contact but rely on stronger chemicals to compensate, which can be harsh on wax, sealant, or a ceramic coating over time. A proper two-bucket hand wash avoids both problems: one bucket for clean soapy water, a separate rinse bucket to knock grit off the mitt before it touches your paint again, and a fresh microfiber for the final dry.

If your car already has a ceramic coating, this matters even more. We know to skip anything that could strip or dull it and use coating-safe soap so the hydrophobic beading you paid for keeps working. Mobile washing means bringing our own water and equipment to your driveway or office, all we ask is reasonable access to park next to your vehicle, the rest is on us.

Wheels get washed before the rest of the car, not after. Brake dust is metallic and abrasive, and rinsing wheels last means grit splashes onto panels that were already washed clean. We hit wheels and tires first with a dedicated cleaner and separate brush set, rinse them down, then move to the body, top to bottom, so nothing from the wheels ever touches your paint on its way down.

Two-Bucket Hand Wash

A separate rinse bucket keeps grit out of your wash mitt, so dirt gets lifted off the paint instead of dragged across it.

Why Hand Wash Wins

A tunnel wash reuses the same brushes on hundreds of cars a day. A fresh mitt and two-bucket method never drags someone else's grit across your paint.

Built For Long Island Seasons

Winter road salt and summer beach sand both work against your paint faster here than inland. We adjust wash frequency recommendations accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a drive-through wash?

No. Every wash is done by hand by one of our detailers, not an automated tunnel with brushes.

What's included in a car wash?

An exterior hand wash and dry, wheel and tire cleaning, and a wipe-down of glass. Interior vacuuming and detailing are available as add-ons.

Can I add ceramic coating or a full detail?

Yes. Car wash customers can upgrade to interior detailing, ceramic coating, or a full detail at the same appointment.

Do you come to my house?

Yes. We offer mobile car washing anywhere on Long Island, by appointment, coming to your home or office, or you can drop off at our Islip Terrace shop.

Is a hand wash really better for my paint than an automatic wash?

Yes. Brush and cloth tunnel washes reuse the same media on every car that day, dragging grit from other vehicles across your paint, which is exactly how swirl marks happen. A two-bucket hand wash keeps a clean rinse bucket separate from the soap bucket so grit never gets dragged back across the surface.

Will an automatic or touchless wash damage my ceramic coating?

Brush washes can physically wear down a coating over time, and the stronger chemicals touchless washes rely on can strip the hydrophobic layer faster than a proper hand wash. If your car is ceramic coated, hand washing with coating-safe soap is the safer choice.

How often should I wash my car on Long Island?

During winter road salt season, every 7 to 10 days helps protect your undercarriage and wheel wells from corrosion. In summer, right after a beach trip is worth an extra wash, since sand left to sit and get wiped can scratch paint. Otherwise every 2 to 3 weeks is typical for a daily driver here.

Do you wash cars in the rain or right before rain?

We reschedule if rain is expected within an hour or two of your appointment, since a wash that gets rained on right after loses most of its value and any water spotting from mineral deposits shows up again. Light overcast or drizzle earlier in the day is not a problem for the appointment itself.

How long does a hand wash take?

A standard hand wash with wheels and tires runs about 20 to 30 minutes for a sedan, longer for trucks and SUVs or if the wheels are heavily caked in brake dust. That's separate from a full detail, which takes hours since it covers the interior and paint correction as well.

Do you wash trucks, SUVs, or larger vehicles?

Yes, we wash sedans, SUVs, trucks, and vans, mobile at your home or office, or you can drop off at our Islip Terrace shop.
