Ceramic coating starts with paint correction. We machine polish your paint to remove swirl marks and light scratches, so the coating bonds to a flawless surface instead of sealing in imperfections. The result is a hydrophobic layer that protects against UV, oxidation, and minor scratches for years, not weeks.
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer built around silicon dioxide, and in higher-end formulas silicon carbide, that cross-links and cures into a glass-like layer chemically bonded to your clear coat, rather than a wax that just sits on top. That bond is also why the marketing "9H hardness" number gets misunderstood: it refers to the hardest pencil in a standard lab test (ASTM D3363) the cured coating can resist without scratching, not the Mohs mineral scale, and it doesn't mean scratch-proof. What it does mean is real chemical and light-scratch resistance that wax and sealant simply can't match.
A properly maintained ceramic coating makes ongoing washes faster, since dirt and water bead off instead of sticking to the paint. We offer the same coating for wheel faces, glass, and trim, and most customers bundle it into our complete coating package so every surface gets matching protection at once.
Ceramic coating is not the same thing as wax or paint sealant, even though all three claim to "protect" your paint. Wax sits on top of the clear coat, held there by weak surface attraction, and wears off in a matter of weeks. Sealant is a synthetic polymer that bonds a bit better and lasts a few months. Ceramic coating actually forms a chemical bond to the clear coat itself, filling in microscopic pores rather than just sitting on top, which is why it holds up for years instead of weeks and resists things wax and sealant can't, like the acid in bird droppings and the enzymes in bug splatter that eat through weaker protection before you even notice. The process runs in real stages: wash and decontaminate, correct the paint, wipe every panel down with a prep solvent so nothing is left on the surface, apply the coating panel by panel, then let it flash and begin curing. That cure happens in stages too: the solvent flashes off within hours, the surface is tack-free within a day or two but still needs care, and full chemical cross-linking, the point of maximum hardness and gloss, takes 7 to 14 days depending on temperature and humidity. We'll tell you exactly when it's safe to drive in rain and when it's safe for the first wash.
Realistic durability matters more than a marketing number. Our packages are rated 3, 5, or 7 years depending on the tier, and even coatings branded for 9 or 10 years elsewhere usually start showing their age, weaker beading, less gloss, before that number is up in the real world, not a lab. Some coatings are also formulated to be "self-healing," meaning light swirls can relax back out when the polymer is warmed by sun or warm water, but that only works on very light marring, not real scratches, and it's not a substitute for correction done right the first time.
Not every "ceramic coating" job out there is done right, and it's worth knowing the warning signs. Be cautious of anyone promising a coating is permanent or scratch-proof (nothing is), skipping decontamination and correction to finish same-day, or paint that still feels rough after the job is done. We also measure clear coat thickness with a paint depth gauge before any correction, since factory clear coat is only about 1.5 to 2 mils thick and removing too much during polishing risks stripping the UV-protective layer underneath. A rushed job, without that check, seals in whatever was already wrong with your paint, permanently.
For most vehicles that means the full vehicle ceramic coating package, which includes paint correction and covers every exterior panel. If your paint is already in good shape and you just want it looking its sharpest, paint correction stands on its own. And for wheels that fight brake dust every week or trim that's starting to gray in the sun, ceramic coating for wheels and trim extends that same protection beyond the paint.
All ceramic coating work is done at our Islip Terrace shop, and we cover the whole area: South Huntington, West Bay Shore, North Amityville, and Halesite.
Multi-stage paint correction before every coating, not just a quick polish
Hydrophobic finish that makes future washes faster
Protects against UV, oxidation, minor scratches, bird droppings, and bug splatter
Wheel face, glass, and trim coating available
Extra defense against Long Island's salt air and winter road salt
No same-day rush jobs, correction and full cure time done right

We correct swirl marks and light scratches before coating, so the finish underneath is flawless, not just glossy.

A properly maintained ceramic coating protects your paint for years, not weeks, and makes washing easier in the meantime.

Wax lasts weeks and sealant lasts months because they sit on top of your paint. Ceramic coating bonds to it, which is why it lasts years.

Long Island's coastal salt air and winter road salt both attack unprotected paint. A coating makes grime easier to rinse before it can do damage.

Yes. Every ceramic coating job starts with machine polishing to remove swirl marks and light scratches, so the coating bonds to a flawless surface.
A properly maintained coating protects your paint for years, not weeks. We'll walk you through the aftercare that keeps it performing.
Yes. We offer matching ceramic coating for wheel faces, glass, and exterior trim.
Wax and sealant sit on top of your clear coat and wear off over weeks to months. Ceramic coating bonds to the clear coat itself, which is why it holds up for years and resists things wax and sealant can't, like bird droppings and bug splatter.
Application itself typically takes a full day depending on your vehicle's size and paint condition. The coating reaches full hardness over 7 to 14 days, we'll give you exact guidance on rain and first-wash timing before you leave.
Watch for same-day turnaround with no correction or decontamination step, claims that the coating is "permanent" or "scratch-proof," and paint that still feels rough to the touch afterward. A rushed job seals in whatever was already wrong with the paint, permanently.
No. Ceramic coating protects against UV, oxidation, chemical staining, and minor scratches, but it won't stop a rock chip or a deep scratch that reaches the base paint. If impact protection is what you're after, ask us about paint protection film.
Yes. Coastal salt air and winter road salt both attack unprotected paint and wheels here more than in inland parts of the country. A coating makes salt and grime easier to rinse off before they have a chance to sit and cause damage.
