Hauppauge is a hamlet split between the Towns of Islip and Smithtown, built around the Hauppauge Industrial Park, one of the largest suburban office and industrial parks in the country, along with Suffolk County's own government complex at the H. Lee Dennison Building. The hamlet sits on Route 111 and Veterans Memorial Highway, and most Industrial Park employees park on open asphalt lots for eight or nine hours a day with no covered structure between their car and the sun.
Window film is not something we can install in a Hauppauge Industrial Park lot or driveway. The glass needs a surgical clean, precise trimming and heat shrinking, and a dust free environment while the adhesive sets, none of which an outdoor install near Route 111 traffic and lot dust can guarantee. Our mobile detailing team still comes to Hauppauge for washes and full details, but window tinting is a shop only service at Islip Terrace.
Shop only installation at 170 Garfield Ave, Islip Terrace, never performed in a company lot or driveway
Film chosen for high heat and UV rejection, suited to Hauppauge vehicles parked in open Industrial Park lots all day
Factory tint measured before quoting so Hauppauge customers never end up past the legal VLT limit on front glass
About a 15 minute drive from the Industrial Park, close enough for a drop off during a workday
Hauppauge Industrial Park generates a specific kind of heat exposure. Employees commute in from across Suffolk and Nassau and park on open lots all day with no garage or shade structure, and that means direct sun pouring through the windshield and side glass for most of a workday, every workday. Quality window film rejects a meaningful share of that solar heat and UV before it reaches the dashboard, upholstery, and electronics, which matters most for cars that live in open lots rather than ones that mostly sit in a garage overnight.
The other half of Hauppauge traffic comes off Veterans Memorial Highway and the Long Island Expressway corridor, both heavily used commuter routes, and cars that spend real time on these roads also spend real time with the sun directly overhead or through the windshield at low afternoon angles. Interior fading on seats, dashboards, and door panels compounds over the length of an Industrial Park career, which is a different kind of wear than a car parked mostly at home.
New York requires at least 70 percent visible light transmission on front side windows, counting any factory tint the car already has plus whatever film gets added. A lot of company and lease vehicles parked in the Industrial Park already carry factory privacy glass on the rear windows, and stacking aftermarket film on the front without checking the math first is how an otherwise careful Hauppauge driver ends up with an illegal tint and a ticket at inspection. We measure the glass before quoting so that never happens.
From Hauppauge, our shop at 170 Garfield Ave in Islip Terrace is a straight run down Wheeler Road, which becomes NY-111, south through Central Islip, about 6 miles and 15 minutes depending on traffic at the Vets Highway light. Film needs a controlled bay to cure without dust or bubbling, so a single planned trip to Islip Terrace beats trying to squeeze an install into a lunch break near the Industrial Park. Most Hauppauge customers drop the car off for a few hours during a workday and pick it up on the way home.
Hauppauge has tint shops and mobile detailers of its own advertising to the Industrial Park crowd, including some that offer to tint a car in the company lot during a shift. We will not do that. The install needs a sealed, climate controlled bay free of the dust and grit that comes off an industrial park lot, and that is the standard every Hauppauge tint job gets at our Islip Terrace shop.
Hauppauge vehicles also qualify for our mobile auto detailing service, which we do bring to your office lot or home. For paint protection to go with your tint, see ceramic coating, and for the tint itself ask about our legal window tint or ceramic window tint packages.

No. Window film needs a clean, dust free, temperature controlled bay to install correctly, so tinting only happens at our Islip Terrace shop. We do offer mobile auto detailing that comes to the Industrial Park, but the tint install itself always happens at the shop.

Yes. New York requires at least 70 percent visible light transmission on the front side windows, measured on the glass as a whole, factory tint plus any film added. Plenty of Industrial Park company and lease vehicles already have factory tinted rear glass, so we check the front window's existing VLT before recommending a film to keep the finished install legal.
An Industrial Park lot gives a parked car no shade for eight or nine hours a day, five days a week, which bakes dashboards and cracks leather faster than overnight home parking would. Window film blocks a large share of that solar heat and UV before it reaches the interior.
